Camping at Lac Georges is a beautiful countryside getaway for anyone who wants a more relaxed experience than the nearby bustling city of Quebec City. Having won Campground of the Year in 2014 and two awards of excellence over the years, you know the whole family is in for a treat when you make this your holiday destination.
Here’s your guide to camping in Lac Georges, from general directions to campsite options and all the activities in store.
Getting to Lac Georges
Getting to Lac Georges is a simple drive from the nearest airport, Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport. Once you get in your car or RV, take Rte de l’Aéroport to A. Duplessis/A. 540 S for 2.4 km. Then, take Route Transcanadienne O/Autoroute 20 O to Chem. de Desserte N in Villeroy at exit 256, eventually turning onto Rte Seigneuriale. From there, you’ll see Camping Lac Georges shortly on your right-hand side.
Lac Georges Campsite Options
When camping at Lac George, you have two primary campsite options. You may choose a more refined experience using their on-site suites or stay within your RV at the designated pull-through RV campsites.
Suites
If you don’t have an RV, you can still camp at Lac Georges by booking one of their many suites. The campground refers to these options as chalets privets, or private chalets, perfect for all the family. While there are more campsites than suites, you can still reserve one if you book early enough, especially if planning a trip during high season, from May to October.
RV Campsites
Pull-through RV campsites are also available throughout the campgrounds. These spacious campsites provide dirt or paved roads to park your campervan or motorhome, ample green space, a small paved area with a picnic table, and a fire pit at each site. If needed, you can also park one or two more cars in the pull-through area.
Outdoor Activities at Lac Georges
One of the most attractive draws to Lac Georges is all the outdoor activities available to you and your family each visit.
Water Slides
The pool area features a tall and twisty green waterslide that children (or kids at heart) will love. This is just one of three waterslides. The red and green slides require a height of 36 inches to go down, while the blue slide requires at least 48 inches.
There are also small, non-water slides for children to enjoy.
Swimming Pools
The campground includes a heated family pool, a splash pad with a beach entrance, and a heated adults-only pool.
Kid’s Pirate Ship and Water Games
Kids will love climbing aboard and exploring Lac Georges’ pirate ship play module, which is just next to the family pool area. This will turn their pirate fantasies into real life while on holiday. There are also additional water games for the whole family to participate in.
Arcade
While not technically an outdoor activity, the arcade is another fun feature. You can play air hockey and other classic arcade games for cash.
Picnic
Bring your meals outside to the campground’s lovely picnic table area, which offers covered seating and sandy beach huts.
Multi-Sports Center
The multi-sports center is a unique offering for visitors, featuring everything from shuffleboard to trampolines, a playground, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, badminton, horseshoes, giant checkers and chess, pool table, skatepark, mini golf, and even an electric car track.
Developed Beach
Just because this campground is inland doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the beach! This campground brings the beach to you with its sandy areas, including beach volleyball and tiki huts.
Lac Georges Camping Packing List
Pack well for your adventure to Lac George to ensure an unforgettable experience!
- Shelter: Unless you’re cowboy camping, you will want shelter from the elements. Pack a durable, waterproof tent designed for all weather conditions if you don’t have an RV and aren’t utilizing their suites. Your tent should have a rain flap above the tent and a tarp beneath it for additional ground cover. Tent camping can also get hot or cold quickly depending on the time of year, so decide if you’d like extra support for temperature regulation, such as with the EcoFlow Wave 2 Portable AC. You can enjoy cool air pumped into your tent in the summer or cozy warmth for the cold winter nights.
- Appropriate Clothing: Whether camping in the rain, heat, or snow, you should pack clothes suitable for the environment in Lac Georges at the time of your visit. You’ll need to stay warm in colder temperatures, so moisture-wicking materials and additional outer layers will help trap body heat.
- Sleep Gear: If you’re sleeping in a tent, bring a sleeping bag, ground pad, or air mattress to create distance between you and the ground and keep you warm at night. Even the summer can experience low temperatures when the sun goes down!
- Power Supply: If your campsite doesn’t have power hookups, bring your own! Choose something portable, such as a model from the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Series Portable Power Stations, or pair it with EcoFlow Portable Solar Panels to create the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Series Solar Generators.
- Food and Drink Supplies: Pack plenty of food and water for your entire group and the full length of your stay. You’ll also need something to keep your food cold while camping, so consider bringing the EcoFlow Glacier Portable Refrigerator, which features a cooler, freezer, and ice maker.
- Lighting: Bring fairy lights or lanterns to illuminate your campsite, as RV areas don’t have fixed lighting features. Don’t forget to bring extra batteries or a backup power source.
- Fire Tools: Planning on starting a fire? Bring fuel, matches, a lighter, and firewood.
- Personal Hygiene: Remember hygiene basics like toothbrushes and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, soap, and shower supplies.
- Camp Furniture: Get comfortable with camping chairs and tables or inflatable couches so everyone has room to lounge.
