20 Christmas Table Decor Ideas to Brighten Your Holidays

Decorate your holiday table this season with these 20 inspiring Christmas table decor ideas, perfect for creating a festive atmosphere. Whether you’re hosting a cozy family dinner or a lavish holiday feast, these easy-to-create decorations blend rustic charm, sustainable creativity, and modern elegance to make your table unforgettable.

From upcycled bottle candle holders to evergreen bough centrepieces, you’ll find unique ways to brighten your celebrations and impress your guests this holiday season.

Upcycled Bottle Candle Holders

This great idea looks gorgeous but costs nothing, and you get to upcycle something that would otherwise end up in the recycling. Choose some nice clear glass wine or soda bottles. Remove the labels and clean them.

Next, put some sprigs of evergreens like cypress or yellowwood trees inside the bottle and fill it with water. You can even pop some fresh cranberries in for some festive colouring. Then, put a red candle on the top of the bottle and tie a thin festive ribbon around the neck if you wish. Changing the water every few days will make it last a couple of weeks.

Woodsy Centerpiece

For a rustic look, get about a 2-4cm thick slice round piece of wood cut from a tree trunk, sand the top surface, and finish it with a clear finish. That will go in the centre of the table.

Then, find a glass bowl with an assortment of unshelled nuts and place that on the polished wood slice. You can also add some small pine cones around the bowl base. If you want to go even more rustic, leave the wood slice unfinished and put pine cones in the glass bowl.

Edible Name Card Holders

Instead of the usual plastic name card holders, why not use something edible? One idea is to use a ripe pear and place the name tag on it with a pearl-topped pin so that it’s easy to pull out. Then, they can eat the pear. Another edible idea is to use 2-3 mini candy canes turned upside down to hold the name cards.

Evergreen Cuttings

Evergreen cuttings are another quick and easy decoration that looks festive and costs nothing. Take an assortment of evergreen cuttings from different trees and shrubs and arrange them in a large glass vase. You can also lay out evergreen boughs along the centre of the table and add some pinecones around the base of the vase for some extra rustic beauty.

Outdoor Christmas Table

If the weather is nice, why not have Christmas dinner outdoors? Set up Christmas lights in your yard and enjoy the ambience when the sun sets and you entertain your guests. Decorate your table with evergreen boughs, colourful fruits, or gold leaves. Hang an assortment of plaid throw blankets off the chairs so everyone can get cozy, then serve them hot chocolate and marshmallows in festive cups.

If you have the perfect spot but no power in the backyard, just use your EcoFlow DELTA Pro. With 3.6kWh of capacity, you can run your lights, music, electric grills, or other appliances all night long. Since it uses no fossil fuels, you can even use it indoors for entertaining if the power goes out.

Gold Leaves

Gold leaves add a touch of elegance to any Christmas table decor. Make your own if you can’t find made gold leaves at a craft store. They are easy to make with faux leaves you can buy at a craft store or even real leaves from outside, though don’t make them too far in advance, or they might deteriorate.

Then, simply paint the leaves with a can of gold spray paint. Be sure to let them dry and paint the other side, too. Then, lay them on the table or glue them to any surface you want to decorate.

Ornament Trees

Ornament trees are easy to make and are a great way to add colour to your setting. Get a styrofoam cone from your local craft store and start hot-glueing ornaments all over the surface. Start with larger ornaments around the bottom and work up to smaller ornaments on top. You can fill gaps with small ornaments or even cover them with garland or tinsel.

Holiday Salt and Pepper Shakers

These are simple and festive for any table setting. Find some mini plastic trees or reindeer from a craft store, put them inside the salt and pepper shakers, and set the shakers on the table.

What if your power goes out while you are entertaining your guests? No worries, just turn on your EcoFlow DELTA Pro Portable Power Station, and you can keep the lights on and music going even when the rest of your neighbourhood goes dark.

Winter Wonderland

Since Christmas comes in summer, you can still have a white Christmas—just make your own. Use gingerbread houses decorated with white frosting “snow” and make cute little marshmallow snowmen using jumbo and mini marshmallows. You can also spray your centrepiece with white paint and silvery-white glitter or buy faux snow and spread it around the centrepiece.

Rosemary Candle Centerpiece

For this, you just need a few wide candles and some fresh rosemary sprigs. Wrap the rosemary around the candles using elastic bands, and then place it in a festive dish filled with real or faux cranberries for some added colour. For a flame-free version, use LED candles.

Furoshiki Gift Wrap

Leave your guests a custom gift on their plate wrapped in a cloth napkin tied in a bow, and put their name card on the gift. Then, you have decoration, a function (it holds the name card), and a gift all in one.

If you face potential power outages during a dinner party, keep your EcoFlow Glacier Portable Refrigerator handy. It can keep your food at food-safe temperatures, and it comes with a built-in freezer compartment and even an icemaker, so you can still entertain your guests with ice-cold drinks.

Colourful Fruits

Find yourself a nice glass bowl and fill it with fresh, colourful fruits like pomegranates, persimmons, cranberries, and pears. You can just use the bowl itself, but the colourful fruits will also look really nice sitting on top of evergreen boughs.

Decorated Candlestick

Instead of plain candlestick holders, hot glue some ornaments around the base for a more festive look. For a fire-free version, pick up some rechargeable LED candles. If they run out of power, you can always supply power to them from your EcoFlow Portable Power Stations tucked discretely under the table.

You can also use your portable power station to play music outdoors or to keep your party going even if the power goes out.

Colourful Pinecones

Pinecones are always festive, but why not spruce them up with some colour? Use spray paint to colour them silver, gold, red, or green and display them in a clear glass bowl.

Fabric Peppermints

Fabric peppermints are a nice touch and can be made of any size. Cut some red and white striped fabric into rectangles using pinking shears for decorative edges. Then, simply use some narrow festive red ribbon to tie around each end so a puffy centre “candy” section that is sinched on both sides to look like peppermint candies. Place them in a bowl or scatter them around on your evergreen boughs.

Ribbon Tied Silverware

A quick way to add an elegant touch to your table is to tie festive ribbons around the silverware. You can also tie them around stemmed glasses, candle bases, or table napkins.

If having everyone in your house starts warming things up too much, you can always cool it off with the EcoFlow Wave 2 Portable Air Conditioner. It’s compact and portable, so you can set it on a floor or table. It lasts wirelessly for up to 8 hours on a charge and can be recharged with AC wall plugs, DC car plugs, or solar panels.

Decorated Chairs

Make your guests feel special by making mini-wreaths from evergreen boughs and red ribbons and tie one to the back of everyone’s chair. Add name cards to the wreath for a special touch, and let them take them home.

Upcycled Pears

Here’s another upcycling trick using old lightbulbs with green or gold twine to make faux pears. Start with a dot of hot glue on the large side of the bulb and wind it around it, adding glue until you get to the narrow end of the bulb and it is completely covered in twine. Glue a twig on top of the stem and a faux leaf made from green paper.

Candy Cane Theme

You can make your table setting a candy cane theme using red and white striped ribbon to decorate vases, tie around silverware, candlesticks, or napkins, and get a red and white striped table runner. Then, place a nice glass jar in the centre of your table filled with real candy canes they can help themselves to.

Wreath Centerpiece

Finally, use a purchased wreath or make your own from evergreen boughs as your centrepiece. You can place a candle in the middle or, if it’s large enough, put the main course on a platter in the middle.
